Florence and the machine

... the concert!

“I feel things quite intensely, which is why the music has to be so intense. I’m either really sad or really happy, I’m tired or completely manic...

Florence Welch

Yesterday was one of the most wonderful nights. I was waiting for it to come for such a long time:
I got concert tickets for Florence and the Machine
This lady is such a wonderful singer and poet and is for me one of the most inspiring artists.
As soon as she walked up the stage, she caught her audience including. Having that shyly, but beautiful appearance and that inner confidence is overwhelmingly wonderful.

“I want my music to sound like throwing yourself out of a tree, or off a tall building, or as if you’re being sucked down into the ocean and you can’t breathe”

“It’s something overwhelming and all-encompassing that fills you up, and you’re either going to explode with it, or you’re just going to disappear.”

Outfit 1 to 3

This post should be about 3 outfits I created with stylefruits. I thought about something wearable for 3 locations:

1. daily outfit
2. roadtrip
3. cocktail- party

Outfit number one:
A lovely maxi skirt combined with a wonderful patterned white shirt. Along with some beautiful big jewelry in golden/brownish tones and a nice hat, which should keep your head protected from the heat.
Colors which goes with that: orange, brown and blue.
That outfit is perfect for a nice brunch with your friends and a great shopping-tour. These shoes won't make your feed be comfy all day long.

Outfit number two:
All you'll need is a white shirt and a great fitted shorts. A bikini under isn't just comfy, it is useful for a roadtrip to the beach. With these great accessorices, you'll be perfectly dressed all day long. In the car, a train, at the beach, along the pier or to complete your special day full of impressions in a pub.

Outfit number 3:
got one of these special- invitations?
Well, with that great summer- outfit you'd be perfectly dressed for one.
A maxi- dress in coral/ white/ turqouise pimped up with your favorite coral-toned high heels and some matching jewelry and purse. You'll be prepared for a little chill with a plain white, knitted cardigan.

I totally would wear all of these outfits. Love the mix of being casual and chic at the same time, just by mix&match the items. Can't wait to have summer and feel the warmness. The colors you see, are my favorites for spring/summer and I think they'll make your brown hair/ skin look even more healthy :-P

WTF!

...what a beautiful start of the week. Waking up with the sunlight. Having a wonderful breakfast and being creative. For me, it couldn't get any better right now. Got off from uni to work on my mid-terms. It's gonna be a totally inspiring time for me, because I got the time to actually just work on my skills.

The Hamptons

What a wonderful memory...
it has been 3 years from now, since I've been there. Two friends, C. and J., and I had that crazy idea of taking a little roadtrip to the Hamptons one day, just to see the sunrise over the ocean.
great weather, a cup of coffee, Panera bread- picnic basket, and some high spirits should follow us this day...

Isn't it wonderful to enjoy the first sunbeams on your skin?
I tell you, for me its the most wonderful thing! It has been a really tough week for me. 3 days of working, doing lots of stuff for my studies and to actually sew a really nice pleated- front pants.
And today was the day of all days:
A friend and I got a special opportunity to work for a famous tv- channel all day long. "DIY- for kids" should be our topic. Being in front of the camera and been told what to do and say is quite a wierd feeling. But becides that, we had lots of fun. This TV- people are so nice and totally understandingly that we are no pros! Thank you, for giving us the opportunity to show the world how creative everyone can be just like that!
After that busy week full of "way too less time!" Its gonna be a special weekend. I plan to work on my figurines and do a little summer collection- at least on paper ;)
What are your plans? Sun equals fun?!

DIY- crocheted bracelets

Its time for DIY!
I was laying in bed, having a cold and sick of watching TV. Thought about doing something creative, without leaving my comfy zone. So this is, what I came up with and ever since, I crochet these bracelets in any colors. Kinda like the non- shiny part of it and a perfect alternative match with my old bracelets.

You'll need:
  • embroidery thread
  • some old bracelets (color doesn't matter!)
  • a crochet hook
Here is how you start:
Choose a color of your yarn and a bracelet and make a knot around it. You should have a little strap around the bracelet. Get your crochet hook and start chrocheting around the bracelet:

get the long yarn from below and pull your crochet hook up again.
You'll have now two straps around the hook:

take the yarn again and pull it back through the two straps. Its important to hold the yarn and the bracelet tight, so the result will be right around the bracelet.

It looks like you've braided your bracelet. When you'll come to the end, you gonna twist it around a little, so that the design changes a little.
many, many bracelets for long roadtrips, train rides or for just as pastime.

happy cupcakes

Today is my cousins Birthday and I thought baking something would be really nice. I felt like doing some cupcakes with a special touch. She loves Oreo- Cookies so I thought it would be a good idea to use them. These special cookies remind me of our family vacations in the past. In Venezuela, the USA or even in Spain they were always our snacks everywhere we went. Good memories always come up, when we have our family reunions...
So here is to you my wonderful buttermilk cupcake- recipe:

Ingredients

300g flour
 2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon natron
2 eggs
100g sugar
75ml oil
300ml buttermilk
1 packet Oreos
muffin- formed baking sheet
muffin papers

Mix flour, baking soda and natron in a bowl. Take a seperate bowl and mix the eggs with sugar until it gets foamily.
Add the buttermilk and the oil slowly. Now you just need to add the flour-mix into the cream and stir.
Take the cookies and chop them into little pieces. Add them to the dough. Get a muffin formed baking sheet and put the little muffin-papers into it. Now put the dough into the form and put them straight into the oven.
180°C for about 20 / 25minutes

Ingredients for topping:

100g soft butter
150g powdered sugar
200g creamcheese
a packet of vanilla sugar
 some oreo cookies for decoration

Start with the butter and stir it until it gets a soft consistency. Now you just need to add all ingredients one after the other and mix until everything is perfectly together. Let it cool for a while in the fridge, before using.
